Atlantis

Picture
Karl Stromberg is this particular movie’s nemesis, and like so many that have come before him, he has a pretty nasty plan for the future of mankind. Basically, they will all die in a terrible nuclear tragedy and he will restart it with people of his choosing in Atlantis, his under-water world.
Sadly, miniaturisation, perspective, size and dimensions, are not entirely convincing, and the current smaller base that Stromberg rattles around in, looks about as big as a dustbin lid in a bath.
Mind you, it’s perhaps a little surprising that this sort of thing hasn’t happened in real life.
Still, maybe it has!

Sean Connery has a home in the private gated community of Lyford Cay, Providence, Bahamas, where houses sell for up to $40,000,000. This particular 007 obviously loved the Bahamas, several of his movies were filmed there and it has proven to be one of the most popular locations for the production team.
Sadly, there are no submersible homes as big as cities in the Bahamas, but there is a land based hotel that would be regarded as one of the foremost resort hotel in the world.
It's name: Atlantis.

Atlantis, Bahamas

Accommodation   The Resort has over 3,000 guest accommodations spread over the Royal Towers, Coral Towers, Beach Tower, The Cove Atlantis, The Reef Atlantis and the Harborside Resort. The Royal Towers is pictured on the right

Location   The 171 acre resort is located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, about 25 minutes from the Nassau Airport.

Nightlife   Atlantis has 19 different bars and lounges. The Atlantis Casino has 50,000 square feet of slot machines and table games. It is the largest casino in the Caribbean.

Dining   Atlantis has 21 restaurants. The Atlantis also offers all inclusive holidays as well as accommodation only.

From 1994 to 1998, South African businessman, Sol Kerzner created the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, at a cost of $800m.
The original scale of the project included the world’s largest open-air marine environment of 11 million gallons which would house 50,000 sea creatures and 200 species. There are lagoons, waterfalls, a Mayan Temple Waterslide complex, 6 swimming areas and a $15m Marina.
