A View To A Kill Gadgets

Shaver Bug Detector

Picture
Suspicious that the room is bugged, 007 and Sir Godfrey Tibbett, posing as Bond's valet, hold their discussion in the bedroom, or as it's in France; boudoir, while hunting for listening devices.
007: "...so, I shall be needing a white jacket and a black tie."
Tibbett: "Yes, sir." While he gets a rotary shaver out of a wash bag before proceeding to scan the room.
007: "And if possible, a clean shirt. Oh my lord Tibbett, look at the state of my clothes. How on earth do you pack my bags?" Bond does his complaining while retrieving a mini tape recorder...
To the backdrop of further moaning, Tibbett finds a bug at the top of the bedside lamp.

Mini Tape Recorder

Picture
As soon as the bug is located, 007 then plays a pre-recorded tape on what looks like a fairly modern and technologically advanced mini Dictaphone, tape player/recorder.
The recording begins, "Oh my lord, what the devil is wrong with these shoes?" It continues in the same vein.

It is hard to work out why one gadget would be disguised and one wouldn't but there you go.
Although an electric shaver is an ingenious place to secret a bug away, it would also be fairly obvious to anyone with suspicions.
Although, to be fair, the bug isn’t exactly hidden away from plain sight either, so whoever is on security duty may not consider checking the razor, and a tape recorder is a tape recorder.
